Few weeks back I had told you guys to let me know if you wanted me to make some of your recipes and review them….
Well Trupti from myculinarysaga.com wanted me to try her Roman Custard.
Please click here for the recipe:)
So moving onto to the recipe. I stuck to the recipe completely except for the part where I added some vanilla by mistake cause I am used to adding it every time I beat eggs. It was too late by the time I realized and had to proceed due to shortage of eggs XD…Nevertheless I love anything and everything that screams vanilla so I enjoyed the flavour though I still wonder how it might have tasted without it…Never mind I shall give this simple recipe another shot very soon for sure.
The simplicity of this recipe will leave you in awe. I had been procrastinating for a very long time and today some guests turned up, giving my mom and me just a few hours to put something together. With no second thoughts I ran over to Trupti’s blog, remembering how simple she had described this recipe to be.
Well I have no regrets I have to say. Prep time took me about 10 mins and I left it in the oven for over 45 min and refrigerated it for another 20 mins or so. So while it baked and cooled we were done with the other stuff. Usually dessert eats up our time especially Indian desserts, so I will give this a heads up if you guys have very little time to put something together.
The recipe made 4 such cups!!!
Initially like Trupti I was a bit skeptical about the pepper! But as they say, “When in Rome do as the Romans do”, XD!! I went with Trupti’s suggestion and everyone loved it!!
The best part about this recipe is that it tastes like a complex custard mainly cause of the cinnamon and nutmeg which most people won’t realize giving us yet another advantage.
My pics don’t look very great cause I was a bit busy with all the people coming over..
I am smitten by this recipe! So I want all of you guys to try it:)))) Head to Trupti’s blog for the recipe:)
